John Roberts has taken the seat for Penistone East for Labour, which originally was a strong hold for the Conservative Party. The seat had been held by the Conservative Party since 2006.

John Roberts, Labour Party elected.

Number of registered electors: 9,713
Total number of ballot papers received: 3,681
Turnout: 37.89%
