{"id":76014,"date":"2025-12-12T15:59:46","date_gmt":"2025-12-12T15:59:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sheffieldwire.co.uk\/?p=76014"},"modified":"2025-12-12T16:05:42","modified_gmt":"2025-12-12T16:05:42","slug":"small-businesses-win-big-at-south-yorkshire-business-awards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sheffieldwire.co.uk\/index.php\/2025\/12\/12\/small-businesses-win-big-at-south-yorkshire-business-awards\/","title":{"rendered":"Small businesses win big at South Yorkshire Business Awards"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>A women&#8217;s led consultancy and one of &#8220;Sheffield&#8217;s best kept secrets&#8221; that saved the NHS \u00a3800,000 this year were amongst the winners at this year&#8217;s South Yorkshire Business Awards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sheffield charity, <a href=\"https:\/\/scccc.co.uk\/\">SCCCC<\/a>, won the Best Not For Profit, Charity or Social Enterprise and the Innovation Award at unLTD&#8217;s business awards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They work to reduce loneliness among the elderly by offering prompt hospital discharge and after-care support, resulting in only 3% of readmissions from over 65s in their care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>SCCCC celebrated their 60th anniversary this year, but Mark Storey, Chief Executive, says they still struggle with recognition for their work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said: &#8220;We&#8217;re seen as Sheffield&#8217;s best kept secret. Why are we a secret?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;To be able to say we&#8217;re SCCCC, this is what we do and this why you should know about us, this is what this platform provides.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ceremony hosts, unLTD Business, a business magazine, support small and medium-sized companies across South Yorkshire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Joseph Food, 32, Editor at unLTD Business, said: &#8220;The smaller guys don&#8217;t get as much love, but they work just as hard and they&#8217;re doing just as much valuable work&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ash Birch, 39, Web Editor, highlighted how the ceremony provides organisations all around South Yorkshire with publicity, networking opportunities and the chance to celebrate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said: &#8220;It&#8217;s been a tough year for a lot of businesses and I think we need to recognise that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;We need to help people make these connections so they can thrive next year and hopefully reflect upon what they&#8217;ve achieved this year.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"unLTD Awards\" width=\"1080\" height=\"608\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/kvzi5B9t7bE?feature=oembed\"  allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Other winners of the night included <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mossvalleyfinemeats.co.uk\/\">Moss Valley Fine Meats<\/a> who won the Sustainability and Net Zero Award, and all-female <a href=\"https:\/\/www.incconsulting.co.uk\/\">Inclusive Consulting<\/a> who won Best Recruitment or HR Business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Farmer Stephen Thompson, 65, prides himself on the sustainability techniques his farm utilises and during his acceptance speech he called for more support for local farmers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Afterward he spoke about his friends&#8217; forced business closures and his advocacy work. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said: &#8220;We&#8217;re being slated by inheritance tax so I&#8217;m spending a lot of time in London fighting.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Emma Conroy, 45, Founder of Inclusive Consulting, celebrated the chance to be nominated alongside only female-founded businesses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ms Conroy spoke about the significance of the award. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She said: &#8220;I&#8217;d certainly like to think it would encourage other female entrepreneurs to start up themselves.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This was unLTD Business Award&#8217;s third year &#8211; in the future they hope to expand to other cities and remain committed to celebrating and supporting smaller businesses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A women&#8217;s led consultancy and one of &#8220;Sheffield&#8217;s best kept secrets&#8221; that saved the NHS \u00a3800,000 this year were amongst the winners at this year&#8217;s South Yorkshire Business Awards.
