{"id":74448,"date":"2025-11-28T10:52:31","date_gmt":"2025-11-28T10:52:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sheffieldwire.co.uk\/?p=74448"},"modified":"2025-11-28T13:11:59","modified_gmt":"2025-11-28T13:11:59","slug":"worsborough-bridge-looking-to-extend-unbeaten-run","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sheffieldwire.co.uk\/index.php\/2025\/11\/28\/worsborough-bridge-looking-to-extend-unbeaten-run\/","title":{"rendered":"Worsbrough Bridge looking to extend unbeaten run"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Three goals were enough to see a Northern Counties East League Division One side sail past a league-above opposition for  their 11th game without a loss.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Worsbrough Bridge showed intent from quite literally the first minute after Lloyd Smith put them one up over Wombwell Town before 60 seconds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Briggers scored again through Juninho Blake just before half-time, before Smith grabbed his second with eight minutes to go.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mark Booth, the chairman of Worsbrough Bridge saw on the night just how well his team played.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mr Booth said: &#8220;It showed just how strong and competitive the squad is, every player in the squad is capable of putting in a performance that is a match for most teams.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Going 11 games unbeaten is no mean feat, and the team from S70 have worked hard throughout the season to keep this impressive streak going.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As chairman, it is Mr Booth&#8217;s job to make sure the team has everything they need to perform at such a high standard, and when the fruits of his labour pay off, it is a sight to see.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The team is determined to not let this form slip away, and Mr Booth can see this attitude among his players. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said: &#8220;It is a fantastic achievement and this group is so hungry for more.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" src=\"https:\/\/sheffieldwire.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/photosss.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-74534\" style=\"width:589px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sheffieldwire.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/photosss.jpg 640w, https:\/\/sheffieldwire.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/photosss-480x360.jpg 480w\" sizes=\"(min-width: 0px) and (max-width: 480px) 480px, (min-width: 481px) 640px, 100vw\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><strong>Worsbrough Bridge in action v Wombwell Town (25\/11\/2025) [Isaac Hall]<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The Brigger&#8217;s determination was spurred on after Wombwell were down to 10 men just 20 minutes in after Jack Dando caught the back of Keelan Grist&#8217;s neck with a horrific high boot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Worsbrough Bridge&#8217;s next game comes against mid-table Louth Town, who sit 24 points behind the Briggers with almost half the season played.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In non-league football anything can happen, and no team should be underestimated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mr Booth knows that the opposition could possibly cause an upset, and the team will have to be on top to get another result.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said: &#8220;Any team on any day is capable of winning in this league so we have to prepare well, show the right attitude and do the right things on the day.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With half the season still to be played, Worsbrough Bridge sit third in the table, and are well within a chance of a promotion push.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The team will have to continue this fine run, with Mr Booth reminding the team that &#8220;there will be ups and downs along the way, we just need to stay united, stick together and keep taking every game as it comes&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>, <br><br><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Three goals were enough to see a Northern Counties East League Division One side sail past a league-above opposition for their 11th game without a loss.
