{"id":72947,"date":"2025-04-28T15:01:41","date_gmt":"2025-04-28T14:01:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sheffieldwire.co.uk\/?p=72947"},"modified":"2025-04-28T15:01:43","modified_gmt":"2025-04-28T14:01:43","slug":"sheffield-wednesdays-latest-protest-against-the-current-ownership-as-they-fear-the-worst-is-yet-to-come-from-thai-owner","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sheffieldwire.co.uk\/index.php\/2025\/04\/28\/sheffield-wednesdays-latest-protest-against-the-current-ownership-as-they-fear-the-worst-is-yet-to-come-from-thai-owner\/","title":{"rendered":"Sheffield Wednesday\u2019s latest protest against the current ownership as they fear the worst is yet to come from Thai owner"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>April 26, saw the latest in a long line of protests that have been held by various different supporters&#8217; groups against the current owner Dejphon Chansiri.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The \u2018tuna tycoon\u2019 has been accused of continually mismanaging the club after their failure to reach the promised land that is the Premier League back in 2016, losing to fellow Yorkshire side Hull City in the Championship playoff final.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since their recent failures to reach the Premier League under the strict command of Mr Chansiri, the Owls have since been put through embargoes and a 12-point deduction which saw their Championship tenure end as they slipped into League One.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sheffield Wednesday\u2019s fortunes seemed to have changed after securing promotion back to the Championship after a two year wait and fans were hopeful that they now could look forward to the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But Chansiri has failed to address the fans concerns about the direction in which the club is taking and repeatedly accused the fans of trying to sabotage the club. The relationship between Chansiri and the fans have hit an all-time low and now they call for him to \u2018sell up and go.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A SWFC Trust board member, Mark Johnson feels that his time has come and its time to give someone else a go at taking the club forward,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cMr Chansiri has been apart of the club for the past ten years and frankly the club is going nowhere under his leadership.
