A new song created by a children’s charity in partnership with a local college has been translated into Makaton sign language.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sheffield Children\u2019s University<\/a> worked with staff at The Sheffield College to produce the new song \u2018Anything I Want To Be\u2019. <\/p>\n\n\n\n To enable children with SEND to participate in the song, a member of staff from the NEXUS academy trust group<\/a> of schools translated the words of the song into Makaton sign language which features in the video for the song.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Makaton is an\u00a0alternative communication system\u00a0which uses signs and symbols alongside speech and written words to support communication. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
