Rotherham star &#8220;to be the next Lioness that comes up&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>A talented 17-year-old striker has been selected for the England Colleges for the second time to represent England in an international Tournament.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/fulltime.thefa.com\/displayTeam.html?divisionseason=600464423&amp;teamID=447186545\">Rotherham United Women F<\/a>C&#8217;s Alesha Gale, from Herringthorpe, will represent England for the second time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The England Colleges teams allow England\u2019s rising sporting stars to compete at an international level alongside their studies.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Miss Gale was delighted to have been selected out of the 300 other girls who also competed in the two-stage trials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-pullquote\"><blockquote><p>&#8220;You just get to get an insight into all the opportunities that there actually are for women&#8217;s football.&#8221;<\/p><cite>&#8211; alesha gale<\/cite><\/blockquote><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The Rotherham star has been playing football since she was eight-years-old, was scouted from school, and has been dedicated to the sport ever since.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The striker earned her first cap for England during the International England Colleges Football Association (ECFA) match against Italy last year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She said: &#8220;I just can\u2019t wait to play another international tournament.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>England\u2019s squad were the underdogs despite winning all three of their matches leading up to the final against Italy who had always won the tournament.<br><br>It soon became clear that the young lionesses were a force to be reckoned with, beating Italy 3-0 and bringing home the trophy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She has been with Rotherham United Women FC since last year, and has resigned with them for another season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/RUWFCOfficial\/posts\/%EF%B8%8F-experienced-coach-joins-the-teamwere-pleased-to-welcome-adam-rawlings-as-our-n\/1204782654105325\/\">Adam Rawlings<\/a>, Manager of Rotherham United Women FC, expressed the club\u2019s support for their young lioness.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/ellatoone\/?hl=en\">Ella Toone<\/a>, whose impressive footwork is something that Alesha&#8217;s tries to mirror.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ella Toone, the Lioness midfielder, has earned over 50 caps for England since joining the squad in 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-pullquote\"><blockquote><p> \u201cWatching her and learning from her skills and watching the
