We get lots of people coming in, queuing up outside the shop. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;I think last year, the first person started queuing the previous evening at 11pm ahead of us opening at 8am.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis year and last, we set up some decks and have local people DJing. They aren\u2019t professional DJs, just normal people who want to play some of their favourite records. You often see the same faces at the front of the queue each year.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"768\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/sheffieldwire.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/20230928_095034-2-1-768x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-60898\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Mark Elliott, manager of Record Collector <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Increased popularity of vinyl records&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Vinyl records have seen a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/business\/2024\/mar\/11\/vinyl-records-uk-inflation-basket-taylor-swift-1989\">significant surge in popularity over recent years<\/a> and have been included in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/business\/2024\/mar\/11\/vinyl-records-uk-inflation-basket-taylor-swift-1989\">basket of goods used to calculate annual inflation<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Spinning Discs\u2019 Martin noted the seven inch <a href=\"https:\/\/recordstoreday.com\/SpecialRelease\/18206\">Noah Kahan and Olivia Rodrigo Live Lounge<\/a> vinyl has been highly anticipated thanks to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newyorker.com\/magazine\/2024\/02\/26\/stick-season-forever-noah-kahan-music-review\">Kahan\u2019s booming TikTok popularity<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said: \u201cFrom a Sheffield point of view, Pulp\u2019s album, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.recordstoreday.co.uk\/record\/Intro%20The%20Gift%20Recordings\"><em>Pulp Intro<\/em><\/a>, is being released for the first time since it was originally pressed in 1993. This is a compilation of some of the Pulp singles, including \u2018Sheffield Sex City\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"768\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/sheffieldwire.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/222-768x1024.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-60806\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Image credit: Spinning Discs&nbsp;<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAnother one is the Def Leppard Leadmill recording.
