{"id":60697,"date":"2024-04-15T11:45:50","date_gmt":"2024-04-15T10:45:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sheffieldwire.co.uk\/?p=60697"},"modified":"2024-04-15T11:45:51","modified_gmt":"2024-04-15T10:45:51","slug":"sheffield-man-hopes-to-create-a-community-of-sharing-to-open-up-conversations-about-mental-health-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sheffieldwire.co.uk\/index.php\/2024\/04\/15\/sheffield-man-hopes-to-create-a-community-of-sharing-to-open-up-conversations-about-mental-health-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Sheffield man hopes to create a \u201ccommunity of sharing\u201d to open up conversations about mental health"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>A Sheffield man has been inspired to create his own mental health charity after losing his close friend to suicide, <a href=\"https:\/\/sheffieldwire.co.uk\/index.php\/author\/jop22acb\/\">Amy Britton <\/a>reports. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After struggling throughout lockdown with his own mental health and dealing with the loss of his friend,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/sheffieldwire.co.uk\/index.php\/2024\/03\/18\/group-bands-together-to-run-the-sheffield-half-marathon-in-memory-of-their-friend\/\">Jake Cook<\/a>, Jojo Quattrocchi decided to quit his job and dedicate all of his time to helping others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mr Quattrocchi realised that many of his friends did not know about the help available in the local area. He said: \u201cThat really stood out to me and showed me that there is a really big problem in this area. The suicide rates in the UK are quite staggering.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During a trip to Brazil while dealing with his own recovery, Mr Quattrocchi came across a yellow flower that changed his perspective on the world.
