Credit: Migration Matters Festival <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The festival is the UK&#8217;s biggest <a href=\"https:\/\/refugeeweek.org.uk\/\">Refugee Week<\/a> event, attracting 13,400 people last year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Refugee Week is the world&#8217;s largest arts and culture festival celebrating the resilience of refugees and people seeking sanctuary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It takes place from 17 June until 23 June. Credit: Migration Matters Festival <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The aim of the festival is to celebrate the positive impact migration, refugees and asylum seekers have in Sheffield, the country&#8217;s first <a href=\"https:\/\/cityofsanctuary.org\/\">City of Sanctuary<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sheffield became a City of Sanctuary on 18 June 2007, during Refugee Week, when Sheffield City Council agreed to support the movement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"MMF launch video\" width=\"1080\" height=\"608\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/-XGc8gDMCNM?feature=oembed\"  allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Migration Matters Festival Launch Video.
