His comments came as Business Secretary Kemi Badenoch told plotters seeking to oust the Prime Minister to \u201cstop messing around\u201d and end the \u201cWestminster psychodrama\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mr Sunak\u2019s failure to turn around the Tories\u2019 opinion poll deficit has fuelled speculation about Conservative MPs considering replacing him with Commons Leader Penny Mordaunt in an attempt to avoid a general election disaster.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Rishi Sunak has said \u201call Conservatives are united in wanting to deliver a brighter future\u201d for Britain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Asked during a visit to the West Midlands why he did not let one of his \u201cdisloyal colleagues\u201d have the \u201cpoisoned chalice\u201d of being Prime Minister, Mr Sunak said: \u201cI\u2019m not interested in all Westminster politics. It doesn\u2019t matter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWhat matters is the future of our country. And that\u2019s what I am squarely focused on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThat\u2019s what I get up every morning, working as hard as I can, to deliver \u2013 whether it\u2019s cutting people\u2019s taxes, increasing the state pension\u2026 today increasing the number of apprenticeships and talking to small businesses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
