{"id":51555,"date":"2024-02-26T11:49:49","date_gmt":"2024-02-26T11:49:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sheffieldwire.co.uk\/?p=51555"},"modified":"2024-02-26T12:03:55","modified_gmt":"2024-02-26T12:03:55","slug":"south-yorkshire-sees-a-650-spike-in-antiemetic-attacks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sheffieldwire.co.uk\/index.php\/2024\/02\/26\/south-yorkshire-sees-a-650-spike-in-antiemetic-attacks\/","title":{"rendered":"South Yorkshire sees a 650% spike in antisemitic attacks"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>A charity which provides security for Jewish groups has reported a 650% increase in antisemitic incidents in South Yorkshire since Hamas\u2019s 7 October attack on Israeli civilians.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The incidents, reported by charity Community Security Trust UK (CST UK), include eggs thrown at the car of a visibly Jewish man while he was inside, shouts of \u201cf****** Jew\u201d, Nazi flags on display in windows and grotesque online death threats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The organisation reports they responded to thirty antisemitic incidents between 7 October 2023 and 15 February 2024. The thirty incidents included nineteen in Sheffield, five in Rotherham, four in Barnsley and two in Doncaster.
