I had a lot of fights for them, I was with them for a long time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe training there gets you very, very fit and a lot of my fitness now I do myself and I\u2019m not doing as much fitness in the actual gym. What I\u2019ve found is that I can take everything SBC gave me and I\u2019ve still got that.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now he is hoping to take the professional boxing game by storm when he fights at Gateshead on Saturday night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s been a long time coming. Since I was 10,11 I\u2019ve been looking forward to this. I\u2019m massively excited.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI want a British title and then once I\u2019ve got that I\u2019ll set another goal. I\u2019d love to be a world champion, obviously everyone wants to be world champion.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although Musson, like all boxers, wants to win big titles, his main ambition is to be financially secure after all the effort he has put in to make it to the fringes of the professional boxing scene.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Leon Musson talks his journey to first professional fight\" width=\"1080\" height=\"608\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/nDduJ_UHoLU?feature=oembed\"  allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">WATCH: Leon Musson discusses his journey to his first professional fight<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Musson talked openly about the way that he has adapted his game as he adjusts to the switch from the amateur game to the more tactical nature of coming up against professionals.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said: \u201cI\u2019ve done well at the amateurs, it didn\u2019t suit me completely. I feel like now I\u2019m adapting my style and skillset to the pros.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Yorkshireman came up through the ranks in Sheffield but moved to study at Northumbria University when he was 20 years old. Fighting out of Tyneside Boxing Club he has developed his skills to be ready for his new venture into the big leagues.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Musson described how his role has grown within the boxing club since meeting his trainer and manager, Ross Wilkinson, and how he gets involved in helping the younger fighters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said: \u201cI really like working with them. I\u2019m a massive part of the gym. I take kids to fights, we\u2019ve got a home show coming up on Wednesday and I\u2019m cornering for that.
