{"id":45413,"date":"2023-03-20T16:22:54","date_gmt":"2023-03-20T16:22:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sheffieldwire.co.uk\/?p=45413"},"modified":"2023-03-20T16:22:57","modified_gmt":"2023-03-20T16:22:57","slug":"new-kfc-billboard-receives-mixed-response-from-sheffield-public","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sheffieldwire.co.uk\/index.php\/2023\/03\/20\/new-kfc-billboard-receives-mixed-response-from-sheffield-public\/","title":{"rendered":"New KFC billboard receives mixed response from Sheffield public"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Sheffield residents have given their thoughts on the new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kfc.co.uk\/\">KFC<\/a> billboard, with one woman describing the new advertisement as &#8220;ugly&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The billboard, which is impossible to miss, can be seen at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetrams.co.uk\/supertram\/stops\/Castle_Square\">Castle Square<\/a> tram stop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One woman took issue with the message of the advertisement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She said: &#8220;It&#8217;s promoting fast food which isn&#8217;t necessarily healthy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;I think it would look better if it was a nice salad.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">I&#39;m opposed to the privatisation of public space through advertising in general, but this is worse than most; I don&#39;t think buildings or skies should be given as canvases to large corporations\u2014it&#39;s abhorrent.<\/p>&mdash; Minesh Parekh \ud83c\udf39 (@min_esh) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/min_esh\/status\/1637780032843137025?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 20, 2023<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>However, one Sheffield resident was more optimistic about the hoarding&#8217;s introduction, arguing that it will add colour to the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said: &#8220;It brightens it up around Castle Square, I must admit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s just a focal point rather than looking at empty buildings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;So that can only be a good thing.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nevertheless, some of the public were scathing of the sign&#8217;s introduction.
