{"id":41776,"date":"2022-11-27T14:03:39","date_gmt":"2022-11-27T14:03:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sheffieldwire.co.uk\/?p=41776"},"modified":"2022-11-27T14:03:42","modified_gmt":"2022-11-27T14:03:42","slug":"coffee-shop-offering-free-cuppas-during-day-of-action","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sheffieldwire.co.uk\/index.php\/2022\/11\/27\/coffee-shop-offering-free-cuppas-during-day-of-action\/","title":{"rendered":"Coffee shop offering free cuppas during day of action"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>A coffee shop on Division Street has announced a day of charity action, encouraging people to exchange unused or unopened hygiene products for a free coffee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The scheme, taking place on December 6, is part of a three-year-partnership between 200 Degrees and the charity Switch-Up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All donations will go to the charity which supports young people from deprived backgrounds and aims to break the offending and re-offending cycle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It hopes to deter young people from a life of violence through mentoring, counselling, and sports sessions which will help transition some of the most vulnerable people to education and employment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Siobhan Lloyd, marketing manager of the popular Sheffield coffee shop, said the idea was sparked by conversations about Period Poverty and the high prices of sanitary towels and tampons. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ms Lloyd said: &#8220;People just can&#8217;t afford basic hygiene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s really important that businesses are supporting charities in this time. It&#8217;s especially hard for charities at the moment and if businesses have the mechanisms to support people, everyone should be doing something like this. Charities are relying on help from business.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"https:\/\/sheffieldwire.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/IMG_8919-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-42044\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sheffieldwire.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/IMG_8919-980x735.jpg 980w, https:\/\/sheffieldwire.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/IMG_8919-480x360.jpg 480w\" sizes=\"(min-width: 0px) and (max-width: 480px) 480px, (min-width: 481px) and (max-width: 980px) 980px, (min-width: 981px) 1024px, 100vw\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>200 degrees has also launched its own brand of coffee which can be freshly ground in store or bought in pod-form.
