{"id":41678,"date":"2022-11-27T21:54:43","date_gmt":"2022-11-27T21:54:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sheffieldwire.co.uk\/?p=41678"},"modified":"2022-11-27T21:54:46","modified_gmt":"2022-11-27T21:54:46","slug":"sheffields-snowdrop-project-donates-christmas-bags-for-modern-slavery-and-human-trafficking-survivors","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sheffieldwire.co.uk\/index.php\/2022\/11\/27\/sheffields-snowdrop-project-donates-christmas-bags-for-modern-slavery-and-human-trafficking-survivors\/","title":{"rendered":"Sheffield&#8217;s Snowdrop Project donates Christmas bags for modern slavery and human trafficking survivors"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sheffield&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.snowdropproject.co.uk\/\">Snowdrop Project<\/a> has prepared more than 100 Christmas gift bags for human trafficking and modern slavery victims to help them celebrate the festive season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The award winning charity were initially concerned the cost of living crisis would hinder their plans to help those most in need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Katie Pendray, 30, Communications Manager for the charity, said: &#8220;We&#8217;ve been amazed this year because we&#8217;ve managed to get all 100 gift bags in only a couple of weeks. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Sometimes these will be the only thing our clients receive that year because they&#8217;re either alone or their families live in different countries, so it&#8217;s often the highlight of their year.&#8221; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The gift bags are filled with a variety of presents including chocolate, stationery, clothing accessories and bubble bath.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite reaching their goal, the charity has noticed a decrease in support this winter and staff have launched a new campaign asking people if they can donate just the cost of a hot drink or a meal for the survivors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Big thank you to everyone who has been dropping off <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Christmas?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Christmas<\/a> gift bags for survivors of <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/trafficking?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#trafficking<\/a> at the Snowdrop Project in <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Sheffield?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Sheffield<\/a>.
