The fate of the Leadmill remains unknown but Sheffield music scenesters will sing back in solidarity at a grassroots festival this bank holiday weekend.<\/p>\n

Get Together has six stages over the University of Sheffield\u2019s campus<\/p>\n

After a huge success last Summer, Get Together<\/em> is back this Sunday 1 for the May bank holiday.<\/p>\n

Kieran Crosby, 33, who promotes and organises the festival said: \u201cThere truly is something for everyone.<\/p>\n

\u201cI urge anyone to come down and take a look at the musical magic.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have a free entry section \u2018under the bridge\u2019 for anyone who wants some part of the action.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur ethos is good vibes only.\u201d<\/p>\n

Doors open at midday and live music is on until 11pm.<\/p>\n

With a free after party at Sydney and Matilda for wristband-holders, festival-goers can keep going until 4am.<\/p>\n

Get Together <\/em>is spread out across six University of Sheffield venues.<\/p>\n

Grassroots indie artists such as Squid, Wax Works and Oh Papa are just three of the 38 acts on the line-up.<\/p>\n

The promoter added it’s a steppingstone for lesser-known bands to gain fans and get booked for bigger festivals.<\/p>\n

Accompanying the music madness, an artist will draw a live mural under the bridge and punters can grab a pint at the Student Union\u2019s Beer Festival.<\/p>\n

Revellers won\u2019t go hungry as \u00a0Icarus and Apollo world food, Nether Edge pizza company and Shoot the Bull will be serving up a storm.<\/p>\n

There will also be plenty of bars for partiers to cause some bank holiday mayhem.<\/p>\n

Mr Crosby added: \u201cWe have a cross-section of quality music for music lovers of all ages.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy favourite part is the unplanned, unpredictable things that happen.<\/p>\n

\u201cLast year the band, Dream Wife, brought their gran on stage to sing a song.\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite the precarity of the Leadmill\u2019s future, the music promoter is optimistic that the scene will continue to thrive.<\/p>\n

He said: \u201cIn the last few years we have gone from nothing to so much happening musically in the city.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m excited about how the new ecosystem is growing and we are progressing in the right direction.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Blinders<\/em> an indie-rock band, are getting ready to return to perform at the festival.<\/p>\n

With Doncaster roots, the band are now based in Manchester but don\u2019t define themselves geographically.<\/p>\n

With so many memories of the bedrock of Sheffield\u2019s sound, Thomas Haywood, the band\u2019s frontman, is unsure what the future holds.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is the cornerstone of Sheffield music, but as a scene we are resilient. I am sure we will adapt,\u201d explains the artist.<\/p>\n

The band\u2019s frontman said metropolitan festivals such as Get Together<\/em> give grassroots band the chance to connect with fans.<\/p>\n

He said: \u201call of the Donny lot will be there, including my mum, Jane, who will be cheering from the crowd.<\/p>\n

\u201cSheffield shows are usually rowdy, hopefully people won\u2019t have forgotten about us!\u201d<\/p>\n
