{"id":38967,"date":"2022-03-21T11:31:10","date_gmt":"2022-03-21T11:31:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.sheffieldwire.co.uk\/?p=38967"},"modified":"2022-03-21T11:31:10","modified_gmt":"2022-03-21T11:31:10","slug":"sheffield-united-captain-billy-sharp-in-hamstring-injury-scare","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sheffieldwire.co.uk\/index.php\/2022\/03\/21\/sheffield-united-captain-billy-sharp-in-hamstring-injury-scare\/","title":{"rendered":"Sheffield United captain Billy Sharp in hamstring injury scare"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Sheffield United have been left sweating over the fitness of captain and top scorer Billy Sharp after the striker pulled up with a hamstring injury during the second half of the Blades\u2019 2-0 win over Barnsley at Bramall Lane on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>Blades boss Paul Heckingbottom confirmed Sharp will receive a scan later on this week to reveal the extent of the damage.<\/p>\n<p>He said: \u201cThe only plus I can take from it at the minute is Bill\u2019s experienced enough to know his body, so he knew it was a muscle injury, and stopped straight away.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Sheffield United manager will be praying the injury will not sideline his key man for the remaining eight games of the Championship season.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s got time to settle down. He\u2019ll do nothing in the next 48 hours. He\u2019ll be icing it and relaxing.
