Tramlines organisers are excited for this year’s festival and insist public health and safety will be a priority.<\/p>\n

The annual music festival in Hillsborough, Sheffield, was announced to run this year soon after the Covid roadmap announcement in February, with the organisers picking the planning back up for the now sold-out festival.<\/p>\n

Alex Deadman, PR Manager for Tramlines said: \u201cIt\u2019s been great to have a bit of normality, a lot of us have worked on the festival for a long time and our year is dictated by some degree by tramlines. Now that it\u2019s happening again it feels like a normal year again.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are now fully sold out which is really positive and it\u2019s really great to see that so many people kept their ticket from last year and it shows some faith in us and helped us a lot. At the moment things are cautiously optimistic.\u201d<\/p>\n

The organisers said their primary concern for this year\u2019s event, taking place on 23 to 25 July, is people\u2019s safety and they will be following the government guidelines closely.<\/p>\n

Tramlines will be continuing to support local Sheffield businesses after the hard hit the pandemic has had on their finances.<\/p>\n

It was cancelled last year due to the Covid-19 pandemic, causing the organizers millions of pounds which they doubt they can recover in a year.<\/p>\n

Mr Deadman said they had just announced their first wave of acts, secured their venue and licensing when the event had to be cancelled.<\/p>\n

He said: \u201cThere is a lot of costs associated with the weekend but there are also costs on-going through the year and I don\u2019t expect we would recoup everything lost within one year.\u201d<\/p>\n

The festival will have on-site traders and various food concessions from local businesses. They have also worked closely with people in Hillsborough to ensure that their businesses are not disrupted but also so they can promote themselves.<\/p>\n
