So my medical decisions are mine and only mine,\u201d Almudena, an anti-vaccine passport protester,\u00a0said.<\/p>\n<p>Almudena worries the rare vaccine side effects will put more people at risk.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_32438\" style=\"width: 286px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-32438\" class=\" wp-image-32438\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sheffieldwire.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/16\/2021\/04\/4861618790972_.pic_hd-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"276\" height=\"368\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-32438\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Almudena and her son with their homemade T-shirts<\/p><\/div>\n<p>\u201cTo say that you&#8217;re not going to let a non-vaccinated person into a bank? You can&#8217;t do so. It is discrimination,\u201d said Amanda, 58, another protester at the scene.<\/p>\n<p>Amanda lives in Portugal. She came to Sheffield to take care of her mother last Christmas, but can&#8217;t get back without being vaccinated.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_32440\" style=\"width: 297px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-32440\" class=\" wp-image-32440\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sheffieldwire.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/16\/2021\/04\/6871618822689_.pic_hd-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"287\" height=\"383\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-32440\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Amanda, in front of the Crucible Theatre<\/p><\/div>\n<p>However,\u00a0there is a group of people who are willing to be vaccinated earlier.<\/p>\n<p>Celia Zhang, an international student from the University of Sheffield, was vaccinated a month ago.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;With the increasing rate of vaccination and the sharp decreasing rate of infection, we have reason to believe that after being vaccinated we don&#8217;t need to worry about being infected,&#8221; Zhang explained.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This is a way to protect ourselves and others as well,&#8221; she added.<\/p>\n<p>Zhang is an asthma sufferer who worries wearing face masks may bring discomfort or cause people to have trouble breathing.<\/p>\n<p>Having had the Covid-19 vaccine, Zhang feels safer while out and about.<\/p>\n<p>As of yet, the government has made no concrete decisions on the vaccine passport scheme.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Crowds of anti-vaccine protesters gathered in front of Sheffield\u2019s Crucible Theatre last Saturday during the World Snooker Championships.
