Nikki Belfield (1605 votes) and Fran Belbin (1585 votes) have held Firth Park for Labour and Co-operative.

Most of the seats have been announced here today at the Metrodome in Barnsley and the Labour Party have continued to build to its already sizeable majority.
Most of the counters have finished their hard day’s work and have now become spectators.
Following the trend across the UK, the Conservatives have suffered many defeats and are yet to have a candidate amass over 400 votes in any ward in Barnsley.
As the final few seats are due to be called, all eyes are on Penistone East for the Conservatives as its primary target.

John Wright takes Walkley for Labour and Co-operative with 2789 votes.
Labour gain Sheffield’s Walkley ward
In spite of their efforts, Labour has been unable to take control of Sheffield and the area remains hung. While the Conservative Party lost its only seat in Stockbridge to Labour, Labour has struggled to win an overall majority.

The leader of Barnsley the council, Stephen Houghton CBE has held his seat and Labour have retained control of the council in a strong show for the party.
The leader of the council said: “Labour can’t be complacent but I think it’s clear the public want change, the Conservative’s days are over.”
“I’m grateful to the people of Barnsley and we will continue to drive Barnsley forward.”
