Appeal for information after Barnsley police chase

After a chase through the streets of Grimethorpe ending in a crash, police have released an appeal for more information.

The incident occurred on Sunday evening at 5:55pm when a black Peugeot failed to stop for officers and was pursued towards Park Road.

The car fled from the police vehicles and crashed into a silver Ford at the junction of Park Road and Brierley Road. The front seat passenger of the Peugeot received life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital by ambulance.

The other three people in the Peugeot fled on foot while the four people in the Ford received minor injuries.

Police are looking for any eyewitnesses of the chase and collision as well as for any information anyone may have on the incident.
